Credit Unions Aid Those Affected by the California Fires
Credit unions are known for helping to improve the financial lives of their members and for their outstanding service. How credit unions helped with the “The Valley Fire” and other fires in Northern California is yet another example of how credit unions go above and beyond to help the communities that they serve.
The fires have had a devastating impact on the community with fatalities and evacuations, and have left hundreds homeless. Credit unions noticed the immediate need for assistance, and did not hesitate to set up a fundraiser for those impacted by the fire, and in desperate need of relief. Three separate fundraisers have been set up by credit unions to collect funds for those affected by the fires. The first is the “Lake Country Fire Victims Fund” which assists fire victims in Lake County. The second is the “Middletown Relief Fund,” which goes towards assisting fire victims and injured firefighters in Middletown, CA. The third is the “Rocky Fire Relief Fund” which assists the fire victims of the “Rocky Fire” and Jerusalem Fire”.
In addition, on September 21, the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues and the Fire Family Foundation issued a challenge to members of the league to donate funds to the areas devastated by wildfires.
They still need your help. Please add more foundation links in the comment section.
