Humanitarian Highlight 10/10: UnBoolievable Efforts
BOO! Happy #HumanitarianHighlight day!! Being able to read and learn what each credit union has done for their communities truly makes us proud and inspired. We are so proud to be part of this industry, and we especially love our #CUfamily. If you know of any credit union that went above and beyond for their community, use #HumanitarianHighlight to be featured on our page!
Proudly contributed to raising funds to support the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library Foundation’s Bookmobile Campaign. A donation of $1,000 will be used to purchase a new and upgraded Bookmobile!
An incredible act of kindness! Kitsap CU donated $500,000 to the new Central Kitsap High School football stadium to go towards the new 1,400 bleachers being added!!
“The investment is rooted much deeper than just a corporate sponsorship,” KCU President and CEO Shawn Gilfedder said. “It represents over 80 years of investing in our local students, their families, and organizations like the Central Kitsap School District that are the heart of our community.”
Knowing that this month has a day dedicated to #NationalFoodBankDay and #NationalBreakfastMonth, First Castle FCU’s team members came together to donate 170 pounds of cereal to the Northshore Food Bank! Remarkable job, everyone!
Let’s talk about how fun this event sounded! Southbridge CU made a $5,000 donation to the Southbridge Cops N Kids program during their Slip ‘n Slide Challenge. Not only did this incredible CU donate, but they also challenged the uniformed officers and first emergency responders to participate. Southbridge CU paid $100 for every single one of them who took a turn down the slip ‘n slide!
This superb credit union donated $335 from their Casual Friday Fund to the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire!
Loving their community and all those around, Tewksbury CU and many other credit unions, participated in helping build beds with A Bed for Every Child. The grand total of beds made was 20, and will be donated to children in need throughout many local communities!
“A bed may seem like a simple piece of furniture, but for a child who goes to sleep each night on a couch, an air mattress, or sharing a bed with a parent or a sibling, it makes a huge impact on their health, well-being and their education. A Bed for Every Child is presently partnering with over 70 school districts across the state to get beds to their students. We know that a bed is not going to solve poverty, but we do know that it is one of the tools needed to ensure a child comes to school rested and ready to learn, and able to reach their full potential.” A Bed for Every Child
