Humanitarian Highlight 11/14: Shine Bright Like A Union
Welcome back everyone to another #HumanitarianHighlight!! We added something special at the end of our blog this week, to highlight and important event that passed last month. Hope you all have a great rest of the week and have an incredible weekend ahead! If you know of any credit union which should be featured on our page by going above and beyond for their community, then use the hashtag #HumanitarianHighlight to be featured on our page!
With positive attitudes and smiley faces, Black Hills FCU honored United Way of the Black Hills $12,000, for an effort to support their 2020 fundraising campaign.
“WE ARE ONE COMMUNITY, OUR CAUSE IS ONE,
AND OUR EFFORTS TO HELP EACH OTHER ARE ONE.
We believe in advancing the common good through a strategic focus on the building blocks of a good life: education, financial stability and health. It takes the whole community to get the results we need. We work together with businesses, government, schools, faith groups, the media, individual community members, and non-profits.
Positive change begins with a single act: your decision to give in a way that matters to you. Whether money, time, or your voice; your action is combined with those of your neighbors and together the power to make an impact is multiplied. The generosity of our donors enables us to provide grants for outcome based programs and collaborative projects that address core needs and achieve lasting, measurable results.” United Way of the Black Hills

A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT WE WANTED TO ADDRESS.
With an incredible vision of serving the ones saving the community, NCOFCU has been representing firefighters, first responders and their families for many years. For the 19th year in a row, NCOFCU hosts an annual event to acknowledge our community firefighters, responders and their families for all the hard work they have put in. Having the support of over 100 firefighter credit unions, it gives each a piece of mind that our community heroes are being put first.
“The National Council of Firefighter Credit Unions Inc. (NCOFCU) is a united (501 (C) 3) national community of Credit Unions, who serve credit unions serving firefighters and first responders which have financial literacy and member education as a mission, purpose and strategic business focus. The credit union movement upholds this philosophy, and so we encourage all credit unions to support our cause and warmly welcome all to attend annual conference!” NCOFCU
