Humanitarian Highlight 11/28: Gratitude
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! On this week's #HumanitarianHighlight, we selected a few credit unions who have all done different acts of kindness within their community. We hope you all have a spectacular holiday with your loved ones filled with smiles and laughter. If you know of any credit union which should be featured on our page by going above and beyond for their community, then use the hashtag #HumanitarianHighlight to be featured on our page!
This is what we love to read about!! During the 4th Annual Veterans Day 5K, Neches FCU hosted and raised well over $3,159! The money was donated to the Wounded Warriors Family Fun!
Teaming up with Berrien County Animal Control to help save animals, Honor CU came together with their community to help empty the animal shelter! “Usually this time of year, they see an influx of pets with births of kittens and puppies, so I approached them about doing an adoption day that we’d sponsor,” said Thomas Newnum (Honor’s Community Assistant Vice President). “So, we’re covering $25 for cats and $80 for dogs.”
With big smiles on their faces, Credit Union of America’s employees spent their day playing Bingo with veterans at the Bob Dole Veterans Hospital in Wichita!
Going above and beyond for their community, ASE CU donated 400 bags for children in need during The Montgomery Food for Kids Backpack Program. Way to go everyone!
Not only has Great Nevada CU created a #CUdifference, but also a #CUmovement. This incredible credit union was the titled sponsor of this year’s Magic Gala which raised an extraordinary amount of over $55,000 for all the young patients at Renown Children’s Hospital!
Wanting to help out their community in any way possible, Oxford FCU donated a whole box full of prizes to the Rumford Community Home’s BINGO winners, while also handing them a check to purchase holiday gifts for residents who unfortunately don’t have family close by.
With a heart of dedication and will, Naveo CU raised $250 from their Costumed for a Cure event to donate to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Massachusetts Chapter.
What would the world do without all this love?! Alliance Catholic CU has given their hearts to helping support 12 local parish families in need for the Christmas season. The goal is to supply and ensure that all 12 families have everything they need for the Christmas holiday. Last year, Alliance Catholic CU were able to hit their $20,000 mark and are hoping to surpass this record since they are supporting 2 more families than what they supported last year. All donations need to arrive no later that November 30, 2019, so if you would like to help, please do so before then.
