Humanitarian Highlight 3/19/2020: Luck of the CU
Hello everyone! We hope you are all doing well and are getting ready to finish up the week strong. The #HumanitarianHighlight this week is special, and we hope you feel it too. Let us know what you think, and please let us know if you would like your credit union to be involved in these blog posts. Have a great day #CUfamily!
Let’s talk about how outstanding Fibre FCU is! Fibre FCU employees partnered with many local organizations to help make 915 brown bag lunches that will be distributed all throughout Cowlitz County to help feed citizens in need.
This magnificent credit union took the time to donate to the Old Town Animal Orphanage during their loan promotion in January!
When you think of the definition of #CUdifference, Bayer Heritage FCU should be a credit union that comes to mind! In 2019, Bayer Heritage FCU donated a total amount of $120,531.00 to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and since 2008, the credit union has donated a total of $521,570.00!
Western Cooperative CU’s employees had the opportunity to volunteer for a MobilePack event for Feed My Starving Children to help fill boxes with many types of nutrient-rich foods, proteins, and rice that will hopefully aim to help feed many of the starving, malnourished children all the way across the world. The employees were able to finish 383,184 meals that will be able to feed up to 1,079 children for a whole entire year.
Marine CU’s Foundation has truly given a positive meaning to the community by helping Marine’s Fond du lac team help make dreams come true. “Marine’s Fond du lac team donated to help the Fond du lac Cheer and Dance to make it to Nationals in Florida. ‘We are so proud of this cheer and dance team and wish them the best of luck at Nationals! I am so proud to be a part of the Marine Credit Union Foundation and making dreams come true!’” Marine Credit Union
Some of the incredible staff from Northeast CU took the time to volunteer at the Homeless Center for Strafford County for an effort to help clean and organize the shelter!
“The Homeless Center for Strafford County is a not for profit shelter that has been helping women, children, and families in the Seacoast area for 20 years. The goal of HCSC is to first provide shelter and then to provide homeless clients with professional case management to assist the residents with the resources and support they need to overcome barriers to homelessness.” Homeless Center for Strafford County
