Humanitarian Highlight 4/9/2020: Refresh Yourself
Greetings, everyone! Want a positive start to your day? Who doesn't? Take a look at this week's Humanitarian Highlight! Credit unions are absolute powerhouses when it comes to humanitarian work-this week features food drives, fundraisers, and more!
If your credit union is giving back to the community, let us know! We would be more than happy to feature you.
There is so much need for aid in our community, and 1st Community Credit Union is definitely doing their part. They recently donated $200 to the Sparta Area School District to help pay for school lunch & backpacks for kids in the community who could face hunger. Way to go!
Heartland Federal Credit Union in Dayton, Ohio is very involved in their community – they recently sponsored a hockey game and gave $1,000 to the Reach for the Sky Program, which provides financial assistance to those in the community who could not otherwise afford the programs offered through Kettering’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural department. Supporting programs like this is so important!

Honor Credit Union is doing its best to support local businesses despite local lockdowns – they ordered takeout from local restaurants and are encouraging others to do the same! Local restaurants are being hit especially hard at the moment. Great job making a difference!
Every child deserves a happy childhood, which is why childhood cancer is so difficult. Together Credit Union is making a difference by partnering with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to help raise money for childhood cancer research – and it involved credit union team members raising funds by shaving their heads! Thank you for all that you do!
Numark Credit Union recently donated $1,000 to the crisis center of South Suburbia, an organization dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence. The donation was generously given in celebration of International Women’s Day. Thank you for all your generosity!
