Humanitarian Highlight 6/25/2020: Looking Ahead
#HumanitarianHighlight is back again! How is everyone doing? In today's blog post, we gave a shout out to a few credit unions who have done different acts of kindness throughout their communities! If you or a credit union you know would like to be involved in one of our #HumanitarianHighlights, please send us a direct message through social media, so we can get that setup!
How spectacular are these Kauai Credit Unions?! Garden Island FCU, Gather FCU, KGEFCU, McBryde FCU, and Kaui Teachers FCU joined together to donate a grand total of $2,000 to the Kauai Independent Food Bank! This will allow the food bank to continue supporting and feeding families during this difficult time.
Caring about everyone in their community, Meriwest CU took the time to give out 200 shelter-in-place kits and more than 300 Disney books to the students from Los Arboles Elementary School! Remarkable job, everyone!
Sioux Falls FCU announced Alexandra Stallinga as the 2020 Scholarship recipient! Congratulations to all 2020 graduates!
Not giving up on helping out their community, Kellogg Community CU held a virtual food drive in an effort to help support a local food bank! A total of $5,000 was donated to make sure the members of their community have food on the table.
“I am so proud of our staff and their generosity during this virtual food drive. It warms my heart to know that our team is not only coming into work every day to assist our members during these difficult times but that they also want to help others in our community,” stated Tracy Miller, KCCU’s CEO. “Then with the MCUF grant added on - we know this donation will make a big difference to those struggling with food insecurities during this challenging time.” CUSocialGood
