Humanitarian Highlight 8/8: Get On Track
Happy Thursday and happy #HumanitarianHighlight day!! Week after week, it still amazes us how much credit unions take the time to help out their community. Whether it being donations, fundraisers, or volunteering, these extraordinary credit unions always make time to show their #CUdifference. If there are any credit unions who would like to be part of any future #HumanitarianHighlight, please use the hashtag to get noticed!
What an outstanding way to help create a #CUdifference! Rogue CU’s employees donated over 4,820 hours of their time to their beloved community.
Helping fundraise money for Family Eldercare, Velocity CU presented a check to them to help keep their members cool during this summer heat.
“Recognized experts in the field of aging, Family Eldercare is a community lead mission that has served Central Texas since 1982. We ensure that older adults, at-risk veterans, and adults with disabilities receive the care they need to thrive in their community. In 1986, Family Eldercare initiated the Guardianship Program to provide legal guardianship protections for incapacitated adults who are at risk of abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. Lawyers are recruited to handle all required legal filings and court work pro bono, allowing Family Eldercare to establish and maintain guardianships. Trained volunteer guardian advocates monitor their client’s care, arrange for appropriate social services, medical care, and living arrangements; maintain contact with doctors, nurses, social workers, and other care providers; and intervene on a client’s behalf if care is inappropriate, or neglect or abuse is suspected. ” Family Eldercare
