Humanitarian Highlight 9/10/2020: A Giving Community
#HumanitarianHighlight is here again, and we are proud to say that the credit union community has been an absolute gem! We have listed a few credit unions who have continued to show their support for the students, teachers, and community as a whole. Let us know what you think and please tag us if you come across a credit union who has done their part in making sure people in their community feel well taken care of.
Loving their community, Democracy FCU donated $500 to the Capital Area Food Bank as an effort to help people in communities all across D.C. and Virginia.
“Over the past few months, Democracy FCU has joined hands with organizations in our communities in the fight against the effects of COVID-19. We have found strength in communal efforts by reaching across the isles [sic] in an attempt to support our first responders, business owners, and schools in our back yard. It is our social responsibility as a financial institution, and community partner, to support those around us for the good of all.” Allyson Teevan, Director of Marketing for Democracy FCU

Collins Community CU donated $15,600.83 to March of Dimes - Iowa Chapter to help support the fight of moms and babies.
“March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. We believe that every baby deserves the best possible start. Unfortunately, not all babies get one. We are changing that.
Today we educate medical professionals and the public about best practices; we support lifesaving research; we provided comfort and support to families in NICUs; and we advocate for those who need us most, moms and babies. We are stronger and more committed than ever to guiding moms through every stage of the pregnancy journey. We are fighting for the smallest among us and advocating for their health each and every day. And we do so with the tools, technology, and knowledge needed to build a brighter future for us all.” March of Dimes

Did you participate in the CU4Kids Miracle Jeans Day!
This event was yesterday, on September 9, 2020, and it was a great event -- as always!
"Over the past 23 years, credit unions have raised an incredible $185 million. Credit unions raise funds by engaging their communities, members, and especially employees. This has allowed them to make an immense impact for millions of children every single year. 100% of the donations go directly to the children’s hospital in your community." CU4Kids Miracle Jeans Day
Let us all help make a difference to help end childhood illness!
