Employees. They are the foundation of what keeps businesses running. Understanding that managers are the ones that set the tone of the work place, but without employees, no business can run on its own. The best thing about hiring employees is that every single person in the office has a different set of goals and personalities. Saying that, it is imperative to treat every one of them with respect and dignity.
What does every staff member wish to receive in a work place?
Validation. This is so important for every manager to understand and show their employees how great of a job they are doing. Let’s take a back step onto why this is so important. Every single day that an employer comes into the office, they have their mind set on what they have planned to get done for the day. Some days are harder than others and there will be times when tasks don’t work out as planned. This is when a manager or any higher executive should come into action and acknowledge how great of a job they are doing and what could be done to help improve their achievements. Without a simple thank you, or wonderful work, that employer will start to become groggy and not be as interested in making sure the work they are performing is correct. So, encourage communication is important in making sure the staff are aware how they are performing.
Since giving positive communication is so important, it is also great to express the negatives on different types of situations. People need to know that there can always be positives and negatives to every given situation.
Rewarding achievement is something that every upper level executive should do. When an employee knows and witnesses someone from the company get rewarded for something they have done perfectly, it will encourage everyone else to get to that level. This will boost everyone’s confidence in making sure they get recognized and it will allow for everyone to work harder for that recognition. Also, who doesn’t like being rewarded??
Opportunities for Growth
This is a subject that is on the tip of everyone’s tongue. In almost every single interview, this question comes along because this is what employees want. They want to grow with a company and they want to be recognized for their hard work in their department. Having the opportunities doesn’t just mean pay growth, it means giving someone a new set of higher responsibilities because that person has shown they deserve it and has worked hard for that position. When a business expresses how important growth is to their company, it is a green light in showing how much of a wonderful worker you are. It will encourage a lot of people within the company to step up to the plate and take on new challenges. Think of it like this, a person interviewing for a position probably will not accept a job that doesn’t seem like the opportunity of advancing their staff verse a company that has been known and encourages their employers to show their worth to get granted a higher position.
Not only is this word important in relationships, but it is very paramount in the business world as well. For an employee working in a big company, they want to always hear the truth in how they are performing certain tasks and how they can improve on them. BY creating an atmosphere of honesty, it allows for the staff to build trust in the company and in the leadership. Giving someone the freedom to be honest is great and as an upper level executive, you want your employee to feel like they have the ability to state how they feel in certain situations and aren’t afraid to voice their concerns.
