Humanitarian Highlight 4/4: It's Your Turn
It`s time for another #HumanitarianHighlight!! Need some inspiration to help end the week? Look no further, we wanted to give a shout out to these incredible credit unions who have done an impeccable job in creating a #CUdifference within their community. With some determination and spirit, HFCU set a night record for the highest total donations on a single night while volunteering at Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights. Way to go team HFCU!!
Employees joined together to help raise $1,175 to go towards St. Paul United Church of Christ’s Pack-A-Sack Program. With the donated money, it will benefit around 233 kids who need are in need of nutritious food.
The total amount raised at the Desert Financial Foundation Charity Golf Tournament came out to $460,000. All of the money will go towards the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Donated an incredible amount of $25,000 to help support the Richard and Nancy Donahue Family Academic Arts Center at Middlesex Community College. The donated money will help provide classroom instruction and state of art performance facilities.
Raised and donated a total amount of $30,000 which went towards the American Heart Association, San Diego Division. Extraordinary effort, Mission FCU!!
On their 70th anniversary (Congratulations!!), Alaska USA FCU donated $70,000 to United Way.
“Alaska USA employees made this fundraising campaign an incredible success,” said Geoff Lundfelt, president. “Not only did we raise funds in support of a fantastic organization, we had a lot of fun along the way, even if it ended with me taking a pie to the face. It shows what we can accomplish as a team, and it makes me proud to be both an employee and a member of Alaska USA.”
This amazing credit union did the unthinkable! Atlanta Postal CU donated a $37,000 check to the Children’s Miracle Network for the year 2018.
CUNA GAC Awards
CUNA Councils honored five credit union professions during the CUNA GAC.
- Donna Gonyeau, from Local Government FCU received the Marketing Award.
- Scott Wuerch from Royal CU received the Leadership Development Award.
- Cliff Wantz from SPIRE CU received the Lending Award.
- Caroline Martorano from Baxter CU received the Technology Award.
- Steve Langley from Schools Financial CU received the Operations Award.
